Facilities
Is there parking available?
There is metered street parking available right in front of the studio on Washington Street, with additional free parking located on Perry Ave., Harrison Ave. (Behind the studio) and Randolph ST.
Is there a drinking fountain?
We do not have a drinking fountain, but we do have ice cold water bottles available for $1 in case you forget to bring your own.
Where should I put my personal belongings?
You will find cubbies to your right as soon as you walk in to place anything that you’ve brought with you to class.
The Workout
How is the class structured and how long is each class?
Each class lasts 45 min.
We will start each class with a brief movement prep/warm up specific to the class where clients will line up on the turf facing the Coach and follow along while instructions given.
Once the warm up is finished, the coach will then explain and demonstrate each movement within each circuit for the day and then assign each member a starting position.
The clients will work through their circuit for 3-4 rounds, depending on the day, then take a break and reconvene for the next circuit. Positions will be assigned and the cycle will start again.
Depending on the day, there may be a 3rd circuit where the cycle restarts or we will conclude the class with a brief stretch/cool down specific to the muscles worked during the class.
I’m new to working out, or haven’t worked out in a long time – will this class be too much for me?
No, this class is exactly what you need.
We don’t operate in the boot camp style, and this isn’t the type of group fitness experience where you’re trying to keep up with the person next to you in a dark room with flashing lights. While the class moves fast, we recommend beginners move at their own pace within each station and focus on doing the movements well instead of trying to get as many reps as possible or using a lot of weight.
Since we repeat the workouts on each day of the week for four weeks, those who are new to exercise will have time to learn the movements and improve their proficiency over time.
I consider myself an experienced lifter, will this class be too easy for me?
No, this class is scalable to be challenging and effective for all experience and fitness levels.
Our barbell movements can be loaded up to 400lbs, we have Dumbbells up to 70lbs, and Kettlebells up to 90lbs. Along with that, we do not condone reps for reps sake, or weight for weights sake – our instructors will be challenging you to perform each exercise with proper form and at a tempo that aligns with your individual goal.
What is strength and conditioning?
Strength and conditioning is a broad term, but as it pertains to the classes at Epoc Studios it means that our classes are designed to improve strength, agility, muscle mass, balance, mobility, and endurance.
All of this comes together to help you burn more calories (“burn fat”), build muscle, gain strength, or potentially all three – depending on your current level of exercise experience and fitness goals.
Memberships
How long of a commitment is a membership?
While you will be automatically enrolled in a monthly auto pay once you’ve selected your membership level, you are allowed to cancel anytime up to 24 hours before your next billing date.
If I have the once a week membership, or twice a week membership, can I only come once or twice a week?
No, your membership choice dictates how many sessions you have for the month. So front-load or back-load your sessions as necessary.
Do sessions roll over month to month?
In order to encourage you to come more frequently, and see better results, sessions do not roll over from month to month.
If you don’t use your 4 or 8 sessions in the month they will expire.
Will I get penalized for cancelling?
There is a 12 hour cancellation window that we would appreciate you adhere to.
However, we understand that things happen, and as long as it doesn’t become a recurring event you will not be charged any additional fees or penalized for late canceling or no showing a class.
